Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality

Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality - Christopher Ryan, Cacilda Jethá Ended up being much more on the "Pop" than the "Sci" end of the PopSci continuum.

If the fact that evolution is based on more than sexual selection blows your mind, and that evolution of different traits occurs at different speeds, and that culture and society do not always sync logically, progressively, or at uniform speed with biological processes...and that community/population dynamics and necessity or technology or convenience or intertia affect all those things...if all that surprises you, then totally read this book.

If not, go read something with less of an agenda. All through the first section of this book (nearly 100 pages) the message is "Look! Human sexual mores do not reflect life history! Ha! See?" Made me very irritated...and believe me, I am the choir to which they could be preaching.
